You should see us jumping up and down at the office. Ossia has been named an Edison Award Finalist for our Cota Real Wireless Power technology! This is like being nominated for an Oscar in innovation.
The company who hosts the awards, Edison Universe, is a nonprofit dedicated to fostering future innovators, so you can only imagine how pleased we are to be a part of that mission. Past winners have included such companies as Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Tesla/Space X, and Apple.
Cota is the innovation of our founder, Hatem Zeine, who began working on the idea of wireless power over a distance using radio frequencies in stealth mode around 2008 and founded launched Ossia in 2013. Since then, under his leadership, the engineering team at Ossia has continued to push his vision and improve on the technology year after year.
The gold, silver, and bronze award winners will be announced at the annual awards event in New York City in just a couple months, on April 4, 2019. The finalists have been sent to an independent judging panel of 3,000 professionals from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education, and include professional organizations that represent a wide variety of industries and disciplines.
Cota Real Wireless Power, as you may know, is wireless power that can be delivered over a distance without cables, charging pads, or line of sight. It is ideal across many industries and for many different applications, including IoT, automotive, retail, wearables, mobile devices, and more.
The Edison Award Finalist honor comes on the heels of Ossia’s Cota Real Wireless Power being named a 2019 CES Award Honoree, our 4th consecutive CES award.
We are so proud of our team and all of our collaborators and partners for their dedication and perseverance! We have come this far this quickly because of our strong community. While we wait for the big announcement, we will continue to push the boundaries of what wireless power can achieve.
